Breeding

Broodmares at Dream Quest Stables are carefully monitored as they cycle to insure that the mare is bred at the optimal time for conception. We take the stress of breeding off the owner by handling everything starting out with a vet check on the mare to insure that her reproductive system is in the proper condition. We then make the necessary

arrangements for the semen collection from the stallion including the shipping, delivery and arranging for the insemination. At the appropriate time, the mare will have an ultrasound to determine if she is safely in foal.

If the mare goes home for gestation, we will arrange for her to return to Dream Quest one month prior to her foaling date. At foaling time, cameras are focused on the mare 24 hours a day. Every precaution is taken to insure the easiest possible delivery for

the mare. All foals are imprinted within a few hours of birth.

Foaling is a wonderful event, watching the broodmare look at her baby for the first time, hearing the low nicker of the mare and the high pitched little whinny of the newborn foal. Despite the hundreds of foals the team at Dream Quest has collectively assisted in delivering, it is always a wondrous experience.
